Empowering the Backbone of India: The Grampari Initiative

A transformative movement is taking root in rural India. The 'Shakti' National Movement, initiated by Vijnana Bharati, has introduced the 'Grampari' project—a dedicated effort to make rural women self-reliant by blending traditional culture with modern science.

πŸš€ Key Highlights of the Initiative:

Science for Society: The project uses science and technology as tools for social, cultural, and economic empowerment.

National Reach: What began in 2003 in Kochi, Kerala, has now expanded to over 24 states across India, including Maharashtra (Nagpur), Assam, and West Bengal.

Skill Development: Women are provided training in various sectors, from digital literacy and health awareness to specialized skills like bamboo craft and Panchgavya-based product manufacturing.

Local Leadership: In every village, a woman representative known as a 'Grampari' is selected. She acts as a bridge, identifying local resources and connecting village women to necessary training and opportunities.

πŸ’‘ Real Impact

The news features Dr. Vaishali Bezalwar from Nagpur, who shared how training in Panchgavya products five years ago helped her and others become financially independent. From health check-ups for pregnant women in Dhalpur to bamboo training in Assam, 'Grampari' is creating a ripple effect of progress.

As Dr. Sudha Tiwari (National President, Shakti) notes, the goal is for these women to not only support their families but to play an active role in the development of their entire village.
