A National Movement For Women

SHAKTI – A National Movement for Women, was established in Kochi (Kerala) in 2003, inspired by VijnanaBharati, a Swadeshi Science Movement, with the motto ‘Science and Technology for Social Harmony’. SHAKTI aims to unite the women of India for the social, intellectual, cultural, and economic development of women and Bharat. By utilizing Science and Technology as a tool, SHAKTI embodies the sacred concept of 'Ardhanareeshwara', recognizing the complementary roles of men and women in national progress and development.

Shakti Celebrates its 23rd Sthapana Diwas – A Milestone in Women’s Empowerment

On 22 March 2026, Shakti – A National Movement for Women proudly celebrates its 23rd Sthapana Diwas (Foundation Day). This meaningful occasion marks the establishment of Shakti in 2003 in Kochi, Kerala, inspired by Vijnana Bharati, a Swadeshi science movement, with a vision to unite and empower women across Bharat.

Guided by the eternal principle of “Shivah Shaktya Yukto” (Shiva united with Shakti), the movement recognizes women as embodiments of strength and creative energy, playing a vital role in shaping the family, society, and the nation. Through collaborations with institutions, government bodies, and communities, it advances initiatives in science, education, health, and leadership.

In alignment with 2026 being observed as the “Year of Women Farmers,” Shakti is honoring and felicitating women farmers across its units by conferring the “Shakti Prerana Samman.” This recognition celebrates their invaluable contribution to agriculture and rural development.

Further strengthening its commitment to nurturing future generations, Shakti, under the initiative “Swa Shakti Sahayog,” is extending support to a girl student pursuing a career in science, encouraging young women to excel in scientific fields and contribute to nation-building.

We invite everyone to be a part of this proud milestone. Let us honour Nari Shakti and work together towards a society where women lead with confidence, dignity, and purpose.

Jai Shakti! Jai Bharat!
